At the Mountain Agriculture Festival in Nosellari, the concert by I Luf closes Alpitudini

This weekend – Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October – marks the return of the “Mountain Agriculture Festival – Porro di Nosellari Day” for its sixth edition. The event, strongly promoted by Pro Loco Nosellari-Oltresommo, aims to shine a spotlight on the themes and challenges of mountain life and on those who live and work in these areas.

During the festival, there will be an earth market, offering visitors the chance to taste, learn about, and purchase the region’s flagship product — the Porro di Nosellari, a prized variety of leek from the Alpe Cimbra.

Coinciding with this celebration, the festival will also host the final chapter of “Alpitudini” — a project by the Magnifica Comunità degli Altipiani Cimbri, in collaboration with the municipalities of Folgaria, Lavarone, and Luserna, and realized together with APT Alpe Cimbra and the Lavarone Library, curated by Superflùo. The initiative explores mountain culture through multiple voices, languages, and perspectives, aiming to enhance the natural and human heritage of Alpe Cimbra through a continuous dialogue between past, present, and future.

On Sunday, at the Sports Centre in Nosellari (Folgaria) from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Slow Food Earth Market will take centre stage, featuring stalls selling local products, Porro di Nosellari, and Cardoncello Cimbro (“Drakebris”), as well as an opportunity to meet mountain animals up close — donkeys, goats, and sheep.

At 12:30 p.m., visitors can enjoy a lunch entirely inspired by local flavours, including leek and pumpkin pie, polenta with Drakebris, tonc de pontesel, and apple cake (advance booking required by 10 October, €20 per person, drinks not included).

In the afternoon at 2:00 p.m., young cheesemaker Enea will guide the audience through the fascinating process of turning milk into cheese in the workshop “Let’s Make Cheese”, accompanied by a children’s activity dedicated to discovering the rural world.

At 3:00 p.m., on the football field, the Alpitudini festival will come to a close with a concert by I Luf. The band, founded by Dario Canossi from the mountains of Val Camonica, offers a musical repertoire that poetically tells stories of everyday life, real people, and genuine experiences. Their songs blend dialect, cultural pride, folk traditions, and social commitment. The name I Luf (“the wolves” in dialect) reflects their nature — a pack of musicians from diverse backgrounds who together create a powerful folk-rock sound, fusing traditional themes and melodies with energetic, captivating rhythms.

Participation is free of charge, but registration via Eventbrite is appreciated.

What is Alpitudini?

The Alpitudini series of events took place throughout the summer on the Alpe Cimbra, offering a rich and varied programme that combined sustainable mountain cinema, guided excursions, exhibitions, talks, storytelling sessions, performances, and concerts — all centered on environmental education and the promotion of the local area.

During this second edition, several prominent guests took part:

Luca Mercalli, climatologist and president of the Italian Meteorological Society;

Pino Petruzzelli, with his theatrical performance “Stories of Men and Wines”;

Matteo De Mayda, photographer, who presented his exhibition “There’s No Calm After the Storm” at the Museo Radici, a project exploring the long-term consequences of Storm Vaia;

Giorgio Diritti, film director, who attended the screening of “Il vento fa il suo giro” (The Wind Blows Round), a 2008 David di Donatello Award nominee;

and Katia Bernardi, director of the documentary “Nella pelle del drago” (In the Dragon’s Skin).

In September, Massimiliano Fazzini presented his research on climate change, and the band The Rumpled performed at Drago Vaia Regeneration in Lavarone, closing the season with music and energy.
