23.02.2020 - How to get there:
Alpe Cimbra is one of the first valleys of Trentino and certainly one of the easiest and most comfortable to reach. On the motorway the exit is Rovereto Nord and from here you go up for about 30/40 minutes until you reach Bertoldi, centre of the Lavarone Ski Area (35 km of blue and red slopes, only one black that the most practical skiers say is the best in the valley).

Ski school and rental:
Right in Bertoldi there is the headquarters of the Lavarone ski school, a team of 40 instructors specialized in courses with children who learn to ski on slopes designed for them with single lessons or group courses. The Lavarone ski school defines itself as a Family Ski School and, after having tested it, we can confirm this way of defining itself.
For those who have to rent, the rental is also very convenient: Olimpia Sport, located right along the road a few steps from the Tablat chairlift and next to the baby park.
Here you can also leave your rented skis and boots at the end of the day and pick them up the next day for a new day on the snow in Lavarone.

Playground in the snow:
In Lavarone there is no lack of an area where you can play in the snow, located in Bertoldi near the ski school we find Neveland, here children have fun on the rubber/tubing track, in the baby park and, for the little ones, also an enclosed area where a mini club is set up. Next to it there is a bike slope, which is a lot of fun for the older children.

Not only skiing: what to do in Lavarone for those who don't ski?
We went to Parco Palù, less than five minutes away by car, ideal to spend hours playing between long slides and climbing.
Or you could opt for a walk on the Lavarone Lake, now frozen.
Or take the car and go up to Luserna, for a walk to Malga Millegrobbe which offers a beautiful panorama.
Or, if you feel like a walk in the surroundings that is really worth doing, you can go here: the Breath of Trees.

Where to sleep in Lavarone with children:
We stayed in a simple and well-kept residence, situated in a super location right next to the beautiful Parco Palù: Residence Hotel Tana della Volpe.
Here there is no lack of opportunities for children to play: giant chess outside and games room in the hotel, board games available in the common area, outside lawns where they can run free.
The structure also accepts animals that are very welcome here.
