Construction work on the new 10-seat Leitner gondola lift is progressing rapidly. It will open during the 25/26 winter season and will replace a historic and symbolic lift of the area.
The project completely renews an infrastructure built in the 1970s, which had itself replaced a single-seat chairlift inaugurated back in 1947.
The new gondola departs below the village of Francolini (1,178 m) and reaches the top of Sommo Alto (1,620 m), with a length of 2,800 metres and a travel time of only 8 minutes.
The cabins are spacious and comfortable, ideal for skiers who will be able to place skis and snowboards inside, in total safety and comfort.
The highlight is the new Francolini slope, which leads directly back to the valley station: a 3.2 km route through the woods, with variable gradients and medium difficulty, served by a state-of-the-art TechnoAlpin snowmaking system.
The gondola will also operate in the summer months, from May to October, thus offering a strategic connection for hikers, families and bikers.
Thanks to the closed cabins, it will be possible to transport strollers, backpacks, bicycles (classic, electric or gravel) and even pets in complete safety.
