NATURE AND ADVENTURE FOR ALL

NATURE AND ADVENTURE FOR ALL

1) A DESTINATION FOR ALL YEAR ROUND, WITH PICTURE-PERFECT SCANDINAVIAN SCENERY AND ENDLESS ACTIVITIES TO ENJOY
Holidays on the Alpe Cimbra are a byword for pure emotion, with a warm welcome
from accommodation providers whose sole purpose is to ensure that every guest feels at home. You can always find advice on how to spend your time, surrounded by the characteristic atmosphere of Trentino, amid mountain huts, refuges and restaurants, all waiting to delight the palate with traditional dishes and ingredients.
Cross-country skiing here is of the Nordic type, with the local landscape evoking the vast
reaches of the North. It is home to two wonderful cross-country ski centres - Millegrobbe at Lavarone, and Alpe di Folgaria Coe at Folgaria.
Many people describe them as “Scandinavian”, and one glance is enough to see why.
Cross-country skiing is by no means hard work on the Alpe Cimbra: you are totally immersed in mile after mile of unspoilt nature, where the gaze reaches beyond the huge fir trees to the horizon.
This is one of Europe’s largest high-alpine pastures, where one philosophy dominates: to
discover the area as you glide over the snow at your own pace, listening to the silence of nature.
And, after a day’s sporting activity, it is always a good idea to relax in the sauna at the cross-country centre, perhaps with an “aufguss” (infusion) prepared by an experienced sauna master.
The Alpe Cimbra ski area has for years been considered one of the best 4-all estinations:
it is fully accessible (including huts and restaurants) thanks also to the Scie di Passione, a ski school that welcomes all, including those venturing into the mountains for the first time.
These pistes are also a symbol of competitive sport, with Folgaria Lavarone now a fixture
top-level athletes and the venue for important events such as the Alpe Cimbra FIS Children’s Cup, which every year sees future skiing champions taking to the slopes. Mikaela Shiffrin is at home on the Alpe for her training sessions, while the top members of the US national team - foremost among them Ryan Cochran-Siegle - are also pace-setters here.
There is an infinite wealth of experiences on offer in the area, with something for all tastes in all seasons, with booking always possible online: fat biking, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing, ice climbing for the boldest, dog sledding with all the family, trekking on horseback or through the foliage, not to mention wine tours, tastings and workshops where visitors can get to know local products better. There never seems to be enough time! The Alpe Cimbra Tourist Board prioritises safety and its expert mountain guides are available to assist visitors. A final word of advice: try these activities at the times of day that fans of the Alpe Cimbra and nature lovers regard as the most stirring: sunrise and sunset.
