There are dreams that are born far away, on old black-and-white postcards, and that patiently wait for the right moment to become the future. On the Alpe Cimbra in Folgaria, that moment has arrived: for winter 2025/2026 one of the most awaited projects of the last decades comes to life, the new 10-seater Leitner gondola lift – a work that unites innovation, sustainability, and a deep respect for the territory.
The new gondola replaces a historic system from the 1970s, symbol of a mountain that at that time was beginning to imagine modern tourism. Today, that imagination returns stronger, transforming into a completely renewed experience: faster, more comfortable, more suitable for the needs of today’s travellers.
From the woods of Francolini to the panoramas of Sommo Alto in just 8 minutes
The route is an invitation to travel. Over 2.8 kilometres you rise from Francolini (1,178 meters) to Sommo Alto (1,620 meters), travelling in modern, bright, silent cabins. A comfort you feel immediately: more space, internal racks for skis and snowboards, total safety. A gentle flight above the forest – the ideal time to breathe the mountain, even if only for eight minutes.

What makes this project truly special is also the new Francolini slope, a 3.2 km route that winds through the quiet of the forest, designed to give emotions to skiers of every level. Thanks to the latest-generation TechnoAlpin snowmaking system, the snow will always be perfect and uniform throughout the season, making the ski experience even smoother, more natural and pleasant.
