Forte Busa Verle (Fort Busa Verle)

“Every three minutes a shot”
Forte Busa Verle rises on the hill that surrounds Passo Vezzena, at 1554 m above sea level.

Together with Forte Lusérn it was in charge of controlling the higher side of Val D’Assa.

It had 4 howitzers in armoured domes, 4 cannons of 6 cm, and 15 machine guns posts.

During the war, it hosted the Austrian writer Fritz Weber and the film director from Alto Adige Luis Trenker.

In summer 1915, it was attacked repeatedly by the Italian troops.

The heaviest bombings almost brought it to capitulation.
