Folgaria will host one of the highlight music events of the summer 2026 on June 25: the free admission performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana at 9:00 p.m. at the Palaghiaccio di Folgaria (gates open at 8:00 p.m.). A can't-miss appointment that will feature one of the most famous compositions of the 20th century, a masterpiece of extraordinary musical and choral power that continues to move and captivate audiences worldwide.
The event, promoted by the Municipality of Folgaria with the support of Apt Alpe Cimbra, will begin at 9:00 p.m., with the gates opening at 8:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Palaghiaccio di Folgaria
Composed in 1936 by Carl Orff based on a collection of medieval poetic texts, the “Carmina Burana” represent an extraordinary celebration of life, love, nature, and human fate. Their communicative power lies in the ability to unite melodic immediacy, rhythmic power, and choral grandeur in a score that, nearly a century after its creation, continues to move audiences of all ages and backgrounds. From the imposing opening of “O Fortuna”, among the most famous musical pages in the world, to the most lyrical and contemplative moments, the work takes the listener on an intense and evocative journey, rich in color, energy, and pathos.
To fully do justice to the monumentality of this masterpiece, Euritmus has gathered highly distinguished artistic forces. The evening will feature the Orchestra Sinfonica delle Alpi, made up of 70 orchestral musicians, alongside five choirs, involving a total of 130 singers. An imposing ensemble that will convey all the sonic richness and emotional impact envisioned by Orff, transforming the concert into an extraordinary collective experience.
Conducting the performance will be Maestro Maurizio Postai, who will lead the orchestra and choirs in an interpretation that enhances both the spectacular force of the work and its profound expressive dimension. The concert promises to be a moment of significant cultural and artistic participation, destined to represent one of the most awaited events on the musical calendar of Folgaria and the entire Trentino region.
